How to Quickly Sequence PowerPoint Animation Order
Note: Watch this short tutorial screencast or follow the quick steps below, that compliment this video.
1. Out of Order PowerPoint Animation Sequence
Let’s say that I’ve got a slide like this one, where I’ve added animations to several items on the slide but they’re coming in in the wrong order. You can see that by clicking on the Animations tab here at the top of PowerPoint and then clicking on Preview.
The animations will be previewed and you’ll see the order that they’ll come in on the screen. You can also notice that each of these elements on the slide has this small number next to it which shows the order they will animate onto the slide.
2. Reorder Your Sequence With the Animation Pane
To reorder the animations on your slide, click on this Animation pane button to open the Animations Pane on the right side. Each one of these items represents an animation on the slide.
To reorder, all you have to do is drag and drop them into the order you want. Move these items around in the list to re-sequence the PowerPoint animation.
3. Preview the New Animation Sequence Order
Preview the new order, by pressing Preview here on the ribbon.
You can drag and drop as many times as needed to get the order you want. Also keep an eye on the numbers next to the object, in case you’re confused which item is animated.
Changing the order of your animation sequence is quick to do, when you know how.
